Ordu – Pregnancy Follow-Up Is a Critical Process for Maternal and Fetal Health
Op. Dr. Sinan Aktürk: “With regular monitoring, risks that may arise during pregnancy can be detected and managed in advance.”
Op. Dr. Sinan Aktürk, Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist at Private Ordu Sevgi Hospital, emphasized that pregnancy follow-up is very important to ensure a healthy process for both mother and baby. “Pregnancy requires regular monitoring of the mother’s and baby’s health status. With these check-ups, potential complications can be prevented or managed effectively in the early stages,” he said.
Highlighting the importance of physical examinations, ultrasound screenings, blood tests, and risk assessments in pregnancy monitoring, Dr. Aktürk stated, “The follow-up program is personalized based on the mother’s age, medical history, and pregnancy characteristics. For example, pregnancies with risks such as diabetes or hypertension are monitored more frequently.”
“While the baby’s growth, heartbeat, amniotic fluid level, and placental status are evaluated via ultrasound, the mother's nutrition, exercise routine, and psychological condition are also tracked,” said Dr. Aktürk, advising families not to neglect doctor visits throughout pregnancy.
Op. Dr. Sinan Aktürk concluded by stating that regular pregnancy monitoring is the cornerstone for ensuring healthy outcomes in both normal and high-risk pregnancies. “With early diagnosis and intervention, the health of both mother and baby can be optimally protected,” he said.
