How Is Shock Wave Therapy (ED1000) Applied in the Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction?
Once a diagnosis of erectile dysfunction (ED) is made and the decision to apply ESWT is taken, the number of sessions and intervals are determined based on the severity of the condition.
How Many Sessions Are Done in ED1000 Therapy?
Typically, 6 or 12 sessions are applied. If needed, up to 24 sessions can be conducted. Depending on the severity, sessions may occur twice, three times per week, or even daily. A 2–3 week break may be given after every 6 sessions, or continuous sessions may be scheduled.
Where Is Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) for the Penis Performed?
Since ESWT is non-invasive and does not require anesthesia, it can be comfortably administered in an outpatient clinical setting.
How Is ESWT Applied?
In ED1000 therapy, the device's probe is applied to 5 specific areas of the penis at determined durations and intervals. These areas include the right and left penile crura, base, midshaft, and tip—targeting the Corpus Cavernosum, which fills with blood during erection.
Each session lasts about 20 minutes, and patients can return to their daily routines immediately. Many fear pain during the procedure, but it’s important to note that there is no pain, burning, or discomfort experienced.
Are There Any Side Effects of ED1000 (ESWT)?
To date, no side effects have been reported. Patients experience no pain during or after the session, nor any bruising or injury to the skin or tissue. It’s a safe, comfortable treatment that allows patients to continue their daily life without disruption.
